Marcio Rebelo was president of Abrafoto (Brazilian Association of Advertising Photographers) and a member of the photography commission of the São Paulo State Department of Culture.

Throughout his 40-year career, he has received numerous awards, including Gold Lion Film and Gold Lion Press at Cannes, El Mejor de la Fotografia Latino-Americana (Asfoto), Gold Medal at FIAP (Ibero-American Advertising Festival), Grand Prize for Outdoor Advertising of the Year (Colunistas), and the Funarte Award for Applied Photography.

His works are in the collections of museums such as MoMA and the Centre Georges Pompidou. He was the director of photography for more than 100 advertising films.
